Celebrate Earth Day!

Let's celebrate Earth Day by sharing recycled and up-cycled projects with supplies saved from the trash can.  Remember - one man's trash is a crafter's treasure......

Remember it Well

Painting, crafting, scrapbooking and more,  the desire to be creative doesn't change, but the product we create with and how we create certainly has!

I've been traveling to industry trade shows since 1991 and have seen so many manufacturers and really great products come and go. There are very few companies I met in the 90's who still exhibit at the trade shows today.  Plaid, DecoArt, Walnut Hollow, Royal Brush, Fiskars, Xyron, Kunin, Beacon Adhesives, Fairfield and B&B etchall are the ones I still see and spring to mind first.

I really miss the manufacturers who brought scrapbooking products and so much innovation to the Arts & Crafts industry in the late 90's/early 2000 who are no longer with us:  EK Success, K&Company, Heidi Grace, Making Memories, Basic Grey, Fancy Pants, Mrs Grossman's (stickers), Little Yellow Bicycle to name a few.  Kudos to the ones who continue to inspire our creativity with new and innovative products: We R Memory Keepers, Therm-o-Web, Prima, Spellbinders, Sizzix and Canvas Corp to name a few.

Now that I've jogged your memory, take a stroll down memory lane with the following bloggers who have been creating projects with product over 10 years old. Feel free to join our linky party if you like then please comment about the manufacturers you miss the most.....  and, if you're looking for a specific product maybe one of us has it in our stash and would be happy to share - after all, self respecting crafters never throw anything away.......  Enjoy!

DIY: Etch A Pint Glass With A Police Box (e.g. TARDIS)

Whodunnit?

DIY Etch a Pint Glass

Etch a plain pint glass with your favorite design and they become part of the party!

It's easy to transform any glass piece by using etchall® etching crème. etchall is a re-usable crème that permanent etched finish on glass, mirror, ceramic, porcelain, marble and slate.

This set of pint glasses shows my Whovian pride with an etched police box design, similar to the TARDIS from the BBC show Doctor Who.  For "whodunnit" and complete instructions and a video tutorial......
