Découpage DIY

          Découpage, the art of applying pieces of cut paper designs, is one of the easiest ways to decorate and update a wide variety of surfaces.  It was used in France in the 17th century to decorate furniture pieces, but the origins of the technique to use cut pieces of paper to decorate can be traced back hundreds of years to several cultures in Asia and Eastern Europe.

          Scraps of Victorian images were the most popular cut outs in the 18th and 19th centuries, but paper napkin designs are a popular source for découpage today.  The top printed layer is carefully separated from the rest of the napkin then applied to a surface with glue.

DCWV Petal Paper Blog Hop

        April showers bring May flowers, and there's nothing more satisfying than creating your own, custom bouquet, especially when you can use specialty papers!  

 

    DCWV has been a long-time producer of the stack-- a set of coordinated papers, made in many popular coordinating themes and colors over the years. Happy members of the American Crafts family of products, they continue their pursuit of serving the consumer's crafty needs with new paper stacks releasing several times a year in updated themes and colors.

National Craft Month - Designer Blog Hop 2020

Windy weather, Spring cleaning, Daylight Savings time and Leprechauns - all hallmarks of the month of March, but most exciting of all is the fact that March is
